TRAIL TIPS!
The interactive map above displays flags at trail forks - green for 'keep left', red for 'keep right' when traveling in the direction of the hike.
The Kiwanis Cabin Loop is a self-created hike, formed by connecting various trail segments, and was designed to take the hiker to the Kiwanis Cabin on the edge of the Sandia from the Ellis Trailhead. Other access routes to the Cabin are also available. The highlight of the hike is the wonderful view available from Kiwanis Cabin. The return to the Ellis Trailhead first follows the Gravel Pit Trail. From the Gravel Pit Trail endpoint, another return option is via the Rocky Point Trail - see the GPS DATA section of the 'Related Hike Information' section on this page.
